We have had another productive week at school, and I would like to extend my gratitude to the parents, carers and students who attended the Year 11 Parents' Evening yesterday. The turnout was excellent, and we greatly appreciate your continued support during this crucial year in your child’s education. During the event, we shared the results from the mock exams. Should you have any questions regarding these results, please contact Mrs McDowall in the first instance.
We would also like to remind Year 11 students and their families of the numerous revision sessions taking place during the Easter break. We encourage students to attend these sessions as they are an excellent opportunity to enhance their preparation for the upcoming GCSEs. While we hope Year 11 students enjoy a well-deserved break, we ask that they continue their revision during this time to ensure their continued success.
In addition, revision sessions are available for Year 10 students studying Health and Social Care and Child Care to assist with the development and improvement of their coursework. Parents of these students will have received a separate email with further details. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact Mrs O’Callaghan. We are grateful to all the teachers who are generously giving their time during the holiday period to support our students.
On Tuesday, a group of drama and music students attended a performance of Hamilton at The Mayflower Theatre. Mrs Peckham, who organised the trip, reported that the students behaved impeccably and thoroughly enjoyed the show. You can read more about the trip below.
Looking ahead, on Thursday 25 April, the first week after the Easter break, Year 8 students who have provided consent will receive their HPV vaccinations.
Following feedback received in the recent parent survey, you will be pleased to hear that we will be reintroducing the parent planners next term to give you an overview of what your child will be learning in each subject every half term. Please look out for an email when we return after the break with more details.
In closing, I would like to wish everyone a restful Easter break. We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday 22 April, in full uniform, with all necessary equipment, and ready to learn.
