It has been another busy and productive week at school.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the parents and carers who attended the SEND Voice: Parent/Carer Forum on Wednesday. Your input and engagement are highly valued, and we appreciate your active participation. Key points will be shared with staff here as we seek to integrate your suggestions.
Looking ahead, next week will see the Mandarin and French speaking trial exams. On Thursday, students will receive the results of their recent trial exams in preparation for the upcoming Year 11 Parents' Evening. This event will take place on Thursday 3 April from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the school. We strongly encourage you to book appointments via Arbor to meet with subject teachers and discuss your child’s progress as they approach their final exams. Should you experience any difficulties with the booking process, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@carisbrooke.iow.sch.uk for assistance.
As always, if your child has any concerns regarding the trial exams or the final GCSEs this summer, we encourage them to speak with their tutor or Mrs McDowall. We have a dedicated team of staff available to provide support.
On Tuesday, a group of drama and music students will be attending a performance of Hamilton at the Mayflower Theatre. Many thanks to Mrs Peckham for organising this enriching cultural experience.
A huge congratulations to Summer in Year 9 for winning the Junior Girls Award at last night’s Isle of Wight Sports Awards, recognising her incredible achievements in archery! Also, wishing the best of luck to our Year 11 football team as they compete in the Hampshire Cup semi-final next Tuesday—their first-ever appearance at this stage! Go team!
You will have received an email today containing a letter regarding the National Youth Survey, which aims to gather the perspectives of young people from the island. We kindly encourage as many parents and carers as possible to take the time to sit with their child and complete the survey. Your child’s opinions are highly valued, and their input will help shape future initiatives. You can see the letter by clicking here.
Please note that school will finish at 3:15 pm next Friday 4 April for the Easter holidays. We will return to school on Tuesday 22 April. As a reminder, we are offering revision sessions for Year 11 students during the Easter break. A schedule of available sessions can be found here. We kindly ask that parents and carers encourage their children to attend these valuable sessions. Additionally, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff who are generously dedicating part of their holiday to supporting our students, which is a true reflection of their unwavering commitment.
Thank you for your continued support. We wish you a pleasant and restful weeken.
