Head of School’s Blog – 28 June 2024

Welcome to this week’s blog.

This has been a special week as we have had our rewards trips. Paultons Park on Wednesday for Year 8 for which I had the pleasure of joining, Thorpe Park yesterday for Year 9 and 10 and Splashdown today for Year 7. I hope the students have enjoyed these days and feel rewarded for all of their hard work this year.

As you have seen in communication this week, we will be joining HISP Academy Trust on Monday 1 July. There will be further communication home from our new Executive Headteacher in due course. It is a very exciting time for us as a school as we move forward and all the excellent benefits it will bring to the school being part of a mutli-academy trust. I will be continuing as Head of School which brings a lovely balance of change and continuity for our students.

We have another exciting week coming up next week. On Tuesday we have our annual Awards Evening. If your child has been nominated for an award, you will have received a separate email inviting you to this prestigious event. Please remember to complete the form to confirm your attendance. It is set to be a very busy evening and we’re all looking forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our students, seeing students’ work on display and some musical interludes.

On Wednesday, Year 10 have their introduction to VI Form day. It is looking to be a very packed day and we hope they find this useful and informative.

Tuesday the Year 7s are taking part in the Federation Games at Medina College. Good luck to you all!

Whilst we agreed for blazers to be optional for students this week with the warm weather, it is set to get cooler and so from Monday we will expect blazers to be worn please.

Congratulations to our highest achievement point winners from last week – Lana, Elesha and Evie – Year 7, Cody – Year 8, Zach – Year 9 and Logan – Year 10.

Have a lovely weekend.
