Head of School’s Blog – 14 June 2024

Welcome to this week’s blog.

It has been another busy week here. We had the University of Portsmouth running a workshop in school for year 10 students on Wednesday. The students found it extremely informative. A large number of students went to Southampton yesterday to watch a performance of Wicked at The Mayflower. It was an excellent performance and the students were very impressed. Thank you to all the students and staff that attended and made it such an enjoyable and successful trip.

The PE staff have been busy getting prepared for our annual Sports day for years 7, 8 and 9 on Wednesday 19 June. It looks like it is going to be a great day. As a reminder, students taking part can come into school in their PE kit and will require plenty of water and sun cream.

Next Wednesday we have a group of year 10 geographers attending a trip to Sandown Bay as part of their GCSE coursework. Then, next weekend, it is the Isle of Wight Festival – it comes around so quickly. Carisbrooke College is open as normal every day during festival time but please remember that the one way system will be in place and traffic may be heavy so allow plenty of time for your journey into school.

Congratulations to our highest achievement point winners from last week – Ciaran and Will – year 7, Olly and Jack – year 8, William and Calum – year 9, Xanda – year 10 and Tristan – year 11.
