U15 Girls' Football Updates
Our U15 Girls kicked off their season with a very strong opening game against Ryde Academy on 11 November. The girls started well with a quick 2-0 lead at half-time, both scored by Rosie. Ryde switched up their players and Carisbrooke took a bit of time to build momentum in the second half, after Ryde scored two goals in quick succession within the first eight minutes. With both teams neck and neck, Carisbrooke soon brought it back with Rosie scoring a third to get her hat-trick. Ryde then equalised again and finished the game with a poorly decided penalty going against us, ending the game 4-3 to Ryde.
On Tuesday 19 November, the girls travelled over to Medina College. This was the girls' second game of the season. Conditions were tough with lots of surface water on the pitch slowing the ball down. The girls worked hard throughout to apply pressure to Medina who were always going to be one of our toughest opponents. There were some fantastic opportunities on target from Tali, Connie and Amelia and some outstanding saves from Elana in goal, who was frequently tested throughout both halves. The girls couldn't quite find the back of the net this week, but with that said, they worked tirelessly and kept their heads up throughout. The final score was 6-0 to Medina.
Next week the girls will play CTK away. Best of luck to them!
